WELCOME to Shady Cove and the Upper Rogue region.  We invite you to explore all the communities along the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway.  This Shady Cove-Upper Rogue Chamber website includes Visitors & Convention information to guide you to the best of what we offer ... Once you visit us, you'll keep coming back ... there's something for all ages to enjoy!

The Upper Rogue region is the southern gateway to Oregon's only national park, Crater Lake National Park.  The region is in the Northern part of Jackson County, Oregon, where the legendary Rogue River begins its journey from Crater Lake and continues 215 miles through the valley on its way to the Pacific Ocean (at Gold Beach).

Many of the small towns in the Upper Rogue were built around the northwest Timber Heritage. Today, with the Rogue River and the majestic Cascades as our playground, these rural communities offer travelers a glimpse of yesteryear with a healthy lifestyle that includes "year-round" recreation and high country adventure.

It is our pleasure to invite you to experience this unique region.  Visitors from all over the world have come to enjoy the Upper Rogue's spectacular wonderland of rivers, streams, forest , lakes, waterfalls and nearby mountain peaks (some reaching to over 9,000 feet). Dormant volcanoes and rolling acres of grazing land as well as flat, desert-type land are found in the Upper Rogue where the small town communities are as diverse as the terrain.

Our Upper Rogue region features the pristine Rogue River, Waterfalls, Lost Creek Lake,  Upper Rogue Wineries, Historic sites, Museums, Upper & Lower Table Rocks, Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest and our ultimate attraction is Crater Lake.  Marvel at the unsurpassed natural beauty, abundant wildlife and wholesome family fun

Because of the region's distinct climate zone, it is possible to cross-country ski or snow mobile on mountain trails, fish the world famous Rogue River for the finest salmon, steelhead and trout experience, raft the Wild & Scenic Rogue River, or golf on an 18-hole championship course - all in the same day!

We are proud of our quality of life, friendly people and strong sense of community. All the ingredients of the fabled rural America lifestyle are here for you to discover and enjoy.

The Upper Rogue region covers a driving loop of 120 miles and includes the communities of Eagle Point (Lake Creek) and Butte Falls.  The regional communities of Shady Cove, Trail (Lost Creek Lake), Prospect and Historic Union Creek are situated on the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway offering 172 miles of world-class recreation, natural beauty and adventure.  This Byway connects two counties, Jackson Co and Douglas Co and conveniently connects to the Oregon Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway.

The City of Ashland, home of Oregon's Shakespeare Festival, is located 50 miles to the south; Historic Jacksonville with all its rich history and the Britt Festival is located approximately 30 miles south/west.  The City of Medford, site of the Craterian Theatre, Rogue Valley Mall and Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport is a distance of miles.   The Upper Rogue region is four hours from Portland; three hours from the Pacific Ocean; and, six hours from San Francisco.

The Upper Rogue's tranquil and unspoiled beauty provides a natural canvas for artists and photographers and the region's spectacular wonderland attracts visitors from all over the world.
